So I gained .2 lbs this week, even though I was perfect on Weight Watchers and worked out a ton. Crazy!
Oh well, it's a new week, and I can't dwell on the past, right?
At least I did well with working out:
Jog/walks: 3
Weights: 2
Yoga: 0
I need to step it up with the yoga, clearly.
I ran into my ex-boyfriend twice this week, which was both good and bad. (Did I mention we live in the same building?) I also found out that a family member of my ex-husband has incurable cancer.
All in all, I am not loving November. It's a 3 day weekend this weekend and well, weekends are tough for me. I miss my ex a lot. I should probably give him a name, so let's go with Charlie.
I really, really miss Charlie. But I still have hope for us, even though perhaps it isn't wise to have hope.

163.4? Really?

I bought size 16 jeans this weekend, and it didn't feel good
Ah, clothing sizes. My goal is to get to a size 10 at some the stores I often shop at -- Ann Taylor, New York and Company, Fashion Bug, etc. I really don't care much what I weigh, as long as I fit into that size 10. OK, that's not really true. I want to weigh under 150.
This weekend I was shopping at the aforementioned Fashion Bug for jeans. If you've never shopped there, be warned, that the quality of most of the clothing there isn't great. It's really only good for two things - jeans, which are affordable and seem to fit me really well and fad-type clothing that you are probably only going to wear for a season or two.
They have these "secret slimmer" jeans that fit me perfectly. Seriously, they make my butt look fab. (That picture isn't of me, but it is of the jeans!)
So, I head out the door Saturday to return some things I had bought online there (I have a slight online shopping addiction but I often end up returning things) and to pick up a new pair of secret slimmer jeans. Why? Because my size 14 jeans don't fit! To be honest, I had convinced myself they shrunk in the wash.
But, they didn't.
I am in the dressing room when I realize the size 14s really don't fit. So I suck it up and get the 16s. It was a blow, for sure, since that's never a size I've worn before. I am familiar with 14-land, but 16 is different.
I was a bit down in the dumps after my shopping trip. I could have said screw it and eaten a cupcake. But I didn't. I stuck to Weight Watchers this weekend, even coming in under my allotted points one day. I know coming in under points isn't good, but trust me, it won't happen again.
I also worked out every day, which made me very proud. I am going to be fit and healthy regardless of what size I am.

Friday Weigh In/Workout Check
163.2?!?!? Really? Clearly I should NOT weigh myself on any day other than Friday, because I get my hopes up. I was 161.something on Tuesday.
Oh well, it's better than 165, which is where I started a couple weeks ago.
Also a bit of an epic fail on workouts this week:
Jog/walks: 1
Weights: 0
Yoga: 0
I had friends in from out of town this week, so I blame them!
Anyway, still plenty of time left in the month to make it to my goals. I am going to a Body Pump Express class at the gym after work today.
I have also decided to add one thing to my November goals -- staying on track with money and bringing my lunch to work 3 times a week.
So, here are the new goals.
November goals:
1) Workouts
Jog/walks: 9
Weights workouts: 6
Yoga workouts: 6
2) Stick to Weight Watchers 90% of the time
3) Stay on track with money and bring lunch to work 3x a week

November goals, some more about me
I have a love/hate relationship with Weight Watchers. I know it works, but all of the tracking can get to me sometimes. Also, why does wine have to be so many points? I will admit to not counting a glass or two here and there.
But, that is the thing with me and Weight Watchers. Even when I am not perfect at it, I still lose. Slowly, of course, but that's always been my way. I think it took me 6 months to lose 20 lbs in 2004. And well, I was in my 20's then.
Needless to say, I am back on Weight Watchers. My weigh in days are Friday, so I will update you all about where I am then. I am guessing 161ish. My goal for my weight loss is to get down to 145-147 and then use 150 as my DANGER weight, where I know I have to go back to point counting.
145-150 should put me in a solid 10, as opposed to the solid 14 I am at now.
Combining Weight Watchers with working out has always been important to me, and the benefits of working out are so much more than weight loss. Back when I originally lost weight on WW, I was doing "The Firm" tapes, and really seeing a difference. I know weight lifting is so important, but I've been out of the lifting loop these days.
Weight lifting, combined with jogging/walking and yoga is my workout plan. I want to be consistent, hence the goals I am about to set.
November goals:
Jog/walks: 9
Weights workouts: 6
Yoga workouts: 6
Stick to Weight Watchers 90% of the time.
Now, some of you may be wondering why my goals for this month are so modest, and it's because I'm having a bit of a bad time with my personal life due to the end of my most recent relationship. I want to give myself time to grieve, have drinks and dinner with friends, enjoy the holidays and generally not stress too much about weight loss. Perhaps this isn't the best way to start this journey, but I want to be a bit gentle on myself to start.
My relationship with this man is long and complicated, and I am not quite sure it is over. We are the epitome of on again/off again, and our "offs" are all about his issues.
Anyway, enough about that! I will update each Friday about my workouts for the week along with the dreaded weigh in!

Welcome to my blog, take 3
This is not my first blog, not even my second. The first one was a successful and well-read blog about something totally unrelated to diet and exercise, and the second one was unread and ended after 8 posts. Also not about getting healthy.
Both of those blogs were anonymous, and both ended for different reasons.
I am hoping that this blog will be more like the first blog, but less anonymous. Not that I am going to give out my social security number or anything, but I will be sharing pictures and facts about my life.
Mostly, this blog will be about me trying to lose 15-20 lbs and generally be healthier. But, knowing me, I am not going to be able to totally stick to that topic. So, prepare yourself for some sad (though often hopeful) stories about my on-again, off-again relationship, which is currently in off mode. And I will probably talk some about budgeting and money - another one of my passions/struggles. Plus, I work for a non-profit organization, and no blog would be complete without some politics/activism, right?
So, welcome, and I hope you enjoy!
